Jan 14, 2012:
It was beautiful day -2 degrees.
We decided to go to Mission Ridge and take some snowboarding lessons.
Jessie, Kelsey and myself went snowboarding.
Autumn decided to sit out but she came along and hung out in the restaurant area.
Before I left I watched a dozen youtube videos on how to snowboard. Kelsey watched some with me.
Turns out they really didn't help much at all.
We arrived around 9:30am paid our dues and got the rental equipment.
We headed out around 10:00am and practiced on the bottom of the bunny hill.
Our lessons didn't start till 10:30.
It was obvious that we all needed some lessons.
We could skate and glide but that was about it. Stopping and turning was just a thing in our imagination.
Lesson started around 10:45 and we went right up to the top of the bunny hill.
We learned how to go down sideways riding on the heal of the board.
We all picked up on this fairly quickly. Kelsey took a little longer, but she got the hang of it.
We went down a couple time with the instructor then kept doing the bunny hill...tring to better master our new skills.
After the 3 trip down the hill I fell on my butt. I must of fell wrong because it hurt.
In fact I felt the pain everytime I sat down to buckle up my snowboard bindings...oh well it didn't slow me down.
We continued to do this for a couple hours, around 12:30 Jessie and I decided we could tackle the big slops.
We went to the chair lift and made it up to the top of the hill.
There was a green run that looked...not too bad.
I must of fell done almost 10 times on the way down. Some of them were epic falls as I was speeding down the hill...and I'm sure I will feel them all tomorrow.
But it was fun.
We then went for lunch had burger and pizza. Jessie had a chili dog.
After lunch we got back to the fun...snowboarding...back to the slops to master our skills.
Around 2:30, we needed another break for a drink.
After the drink I was feeling the butt pain quite a lot. I did a couple more runs, but then took a and took some pics.
The kids did a few more and Kelsey did her first ride up the chair lift...she said it wasn't that hard coming down.
We finished around 4:00 and drove back home.
It was a great family outing...loved every minute of it...I'm sure I will fell every muscle tomorrow.
But it was a fun day...and Number 47 is done.
I think I will do this one a few more times...the kids had a great time as well.
Autumn spend the time visiting with people and she had a great time too.

My Bucket List
I had created a bucket list a couple years ago on a Facebook app. But isn't working anymore. So I thought I would do one here, that way I can blog about crossing them off my list. I will add some of the items I have already accomplished...hope I can remember most of the items I had on my original list.
